Leach Named West Region Women's Co-Track Athlete Of The Year

Junior All-American and reigning NCAA champion Nicole Leach was named a co-winner for the NCAA West Region Women's Track Athlete of the Year, it was announced by the U.S. Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday. Leach shares this year's honor with Cal's Alysia Johnson.
Leach won her third consecutive Pac-10 and West Region 400m hurdles crown last month helping her receive regional honors for the 2008 season. She also anchored the Bruin women to victory in the 4x400m relay at regionals.
On Wednesday, Leach will begin her quest to defend her NCAA title in the intermediate hurdles and look for All-American honors in the relay.
