Diving Signs Karina Silva To National Letter-of-Intent

Diving coach Tom Stebbins has announced the signing of Karina Silva to a National Letter-of-Intent. Silva, from Miami, FL, will transfer into UCLA in the fall.
Silva graduated from Keystone National HS and currently attends Miami Dade College.
"Karina is a great diver and we are so excited to have her joining the Bruin dive team in the Fall," said Stebbins.
Silva is a very accomplished diver with lots of international and national experience on all three disciplines. Her arrival in the fall will help a solid Bruin diving team that loses four student-athletes to graduation in June.
Below is a list of Silva's accomplishments over the past few years.
- Jr. European Championships (Gold medal on 10mt platform in 2006)
- 2-time bronze medal winner at Jr. European Championships (3mt springboard synchro - 2006 &2007)
- Participant at 2008 World Cup in Beijing, China
- 2008 European Cup Finalist on platform in Stockholm, Sweden
- Bronze medalist at 2006 Madrid Grand Prix (10mt synchro)
- Finalist at 2007 Moscow Grand Prix (10mt)
- Silver medalist at 2003 USA Jr. nationals on platform
- 4th place at 2003 USA Jr. nationals on 3mt
- 10-time Spanish Jr. national champion on platform
- 2-time Spanish Jr. national champion 3mt
- 6-time Spanish Jr. national Champion 3mt synchro
- 8-time Spanish Sr. National Champion on platform
