Two Former Bruins Selected to Beach National Training Teams

Former Bruins Katie Carter and Jazmin Machado have been named to a pair of national beach volleyball training teams. Carter, a 2006 third-team AVCA All-American, earned a spot on the A2 (Under-26) Training Team for the SWATCH FIVB World Tour stop in Aland, Finland (Aug. 17-22), while Machado was named to the Junior (Under-21) World Championships roster.
Both players will start training this week in Southern California with Eduardo "Anjinho" Bacil, USA Volleyball's head beach volleyball coach who will be assisted by Jon Aharoni, USAV's coordinator of beach coaching and development. By mid-July, each team will be narrowed down to four athletes.
