No. 8 UCLA travels to No. 13 Pepperdine on Sat., Apr. 16 for the regular season finale for both teams. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.
The Bruins (16-12, 9-12) and Waves (10-15, 6-15) will embark upon vastly different paths in the postseason. UCLA travels to USC for the MPSF quarterfinals on Apr. 23, while Pepperdine won't advance to the playoffs for the first time since 1995.
On Jan. 26, the Bruins beat the Waves 3-0 in Pauley Pavilion. In that match UCLA hit .428 and limited Pepperdine to an attack percentage of .268. The Bruins also won the war at the net, out-blocking the Waves, 8.5-3.0.
Individually, junior Kyle Caldwell and freshman Gonzalo Quiroga combined for 25 kills and each hit better than 45%.
Entering Saturday's match, the Bruins are looking to rebound from a 3-0 loss at USC, while the Waves snapped a three-match skid with a sweep over UC Santa Barbara.
The Bruins lead the all-time series, 74-34.
