Junior Dean Espy of the UCLA baseball team presents his fourth episode of "The Weekly ESPY", a weekly video blog taking a look at the Bruins' baseball season through the eyes of UCLA's first baseman.
Espy welcomes freshman right-handed pitcher Adam Plutko to this week's episode and talks about last weekend's resilient series victory over Cal State Bakersfield. The Bruins dropped a 5-1 victory on Friday evening before winning on Saturday (10-1) and Sunday (3-2). Plutko earned his third consecutive victory on Sunday afternoon, striking out a career-high 12 batters in eight innings against the visiting Roadrunners.
UCLA has seven games to play in its regular-season schedule, with just three home games against California this weekend. Espy, Plutko and the Bruins are looking forward to their final regular-season home series against the visiting Golden Bears.
Game time on Friday is 6 p.m. UCLA and California will continue this weekend's Pac-10 series Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. Admission to games at Jackie Robinson Stadium costs $7 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 16 and under).
