May 19, 2011
Senior Holden Seguso (Bradenton, FL/Bradenton Academy) of the UCLA men's tennis team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for May 9-15.
Seguso clinched UCLA's 4-3 victory over Ole Miss in the second round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. With the dual match tied at 3-3, Seguso, who lost the first set against Johan Backstrom, rallied for a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(4) victory to give the Bruins a dramatic come-from-behind victory. UCLA was trailing 3-1 in the match and faced the possibility of losing in regional play for the first time in school history.
This is Seguso's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
