PrepVolleyball.com:
The defending national champions will bring seven new faces to Westwood, several of whom have the chops to contend for a starting position right away. Strehlow and Lawless are the headliners. No. 8 in the PrepVolleyball.com Senior Aces, Strehlow has won three Open national championships in the past four years. She is very skilled, confident and a great leader. Strehlow will compete for the vacant setter position with rising sophomore Megan Moenoa, a highly-acclaimed Class of 2011 Senior Ace. Lawless is a very physical outside hitter who is one of the standouts for the vaunted Club Red team that is a favorite to medal at USAV Junior Nationals in Columbus. A big hitter and blocker, Lawless, No. 21 in the Senior Aces, has improved her back row skills and could become a six-rotation contributor for the Bruins one day once the logjam at the position lessens. Boland, who committed to UCLA only recently, is a huge addition, adding depth to every position along the front row. Boland is part of the Vision 18 Gold team favored to take Gold in Columbus. No. 91 in the Senior Aces, Klineman is showing signs of playing like her big sister, Alix, who was a three-time All-American at Stanford. Klineman shows great range and has good ball control for a tall player. Three defensive players complete the class, led by Drolson, a high energy player whose relentless attitude on defense makes her a prime candidate to fill the vacant libero position. Inouye and Fincher are dynamic defenders who add depth to the Bruin back court.
