HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Former UCLA standouts Adam Wright and Chay Lapin have been named to the U.S. Olympic Men's Water Polo Team, as announced by USA head coach Terry Schroeder on Monday morning.

Wright currently serves as UCLA's head men's water polo coach and will make his third consecutive appearance at the Olympics in London this summer. Lapin completed his UCLA career in the fall of 2009 and has been named to the Olympic roster for the first time in his career.

A standout in the pool for UCLA from 1997-2000, Wright helped the USA Men's Water Polo Team capture a silver medal at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. He made his Olympic debut at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.

The 13-man USA roster is led by team captain Tony Azevedo and Ryan Bailey, both headed to play in their fourth Olympic Games. The veteran squad will be looking to build off recent momentum that has seen consecutive wins over Hungary and a victory against Croatia earlier this month.

The U.S. Olympic Team will open competition at the 2012 Olympic Games against Montenegro on July 29. Team USA will also face Romania on July 31, Great Britain on Aug. 2, Serbia on Aug. 4 and Hungary on Aug 6 to close out preliminary play in Group B.
