USA, Lua Take 4-2 lead at Curtis Cup

The United States swept the morning foursomes matches and won one of the afternoon fourball matches to take a 4-2 lead against Great Britain & Ireland in the 37th Curtis Cup at Niarn, Scotland on Friday.
In the morning foursomes (alternate shot) matches, UCLA junior Tiffany Lua and partner Amy Anderson won 2 and 1 against GB&I's Holly Clyburn and Bronte Law. In the other matches, Austin Ernst and Brooke Pancake of the USA defeated Kelly Tidy and Amy Boulden, 1-up, and Lindy Duncan and Lisa McCloskey d. Leona Maguire and Stephanie Meadow, 3 and 2.
In the afternoon four ball (better ball) competition, Lua did not participate and the USA one won of three matches. Anderson teamed with Emily Tubert and won 4 and 3 against Pamela Pretswell and Charley Hull. Pancake and Erica Popson lost 2 and 1 to Tidy and Clyburn and Duncan and McCloskey lost 3 and 2 to Law and Boulden.
