1999 (As A Sophomore) - Started 41 games, all in center field ... Got the opportunity to start in center for the first time vs. Cal, 2/26, when Matt Pearl went down with a nagging ankle injury ... Quickly became the permanent centerfielder with his outstanding defensive play and strong arm ... Hit ninth 40 times and eighth once ... Led the team in sac hits (5).
