Volunteer Assistant Coach First Year
Ross Dammann joins the Bruins this year. As an athlete for the University of Oregon, he was a Pac-10 qualifier in the 1500m and competed on the Ducks' 1997 and 1999 cross country teams, which placed fifth and eighth, respectively, at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. As a graduate competing for Cal State San Marcos, he placed fourth in the 1500m at the 2001 NAIA Track and Field Championships. His personal bests are 1:51 (800m), 3:50.47 (1500m) and 24:57 (cross country 8000m).
From 2000-01, Dammann was a graduate assistant and athlete at Cal State San Marcos under current American mile record holder Steve Scott. In the school's first year,the Cougars placed third at the NAIA Cross Country Championships.
