2000 - Had a streak of six straight starts, beginning with Lewis (3/4)...Against Lewis he responded with 17 kills (.615) and nine blocks both career highs...Against BYU (3/2), he came in for senior Seth Burnham and recorded 10 kills and seven blocks...He matched his career best of nine blocks against Ball State...Came off the bench against CS Northridge (3/31) and contributed four kills, four blocks and one ace...Against Pepperdine (4/29), he recorded a kill, an ace and two blocks in relief of Burnham. He averaged 1.44bpg and hit .374 in 15 matches.
High School - Four-time letterman in football and volleyball at Corona del Mar High...Played defensive end for Dick Freeman in football and was a middle blocker for Steve Conti in volleyball...In volleyball, he earned First-Team All-CIF and First-Team All-District...Also received MVP honors of the Orange County Tournament of Champions...All-star team starter who was a member of the CIF championship team.
Personal - Father Ron lettered in volleyball for the Bruins from 1971-73 and played on two NCAA championship teams...Older brother John played for the Bruins in 2000...Mother Cindy is a 1974 UCLA graduate...Came to UCLA "to win a national championship and because of its great tradition of athletics and academics"...Admires the late Pete Maravich, former NBA great...Enjoys surfing and playing the guitar in his spare time...Favorite high school classes were Woodshop and History of the Beatles...Political Science major.
