Overview - All-America Candidate...Team captain for a third consecutive season...Named to the All-Tournament Team at the U.S. Open Tournament in May, 2000 in Columbus Ohio...The Bruins were the runner-up at that tourney behind the Dominican National Team...Has developed as a potent attacker behind the setter, allowing the Bruins to spread out the offense...Has been the team’s leading blocker for two seasons, and looks to improve as both a hitter and a blocker in the upcoming year ...Two-time member of the U.S. World University Games team.
1999 Honors - First-team All-District VIII...First-team All-Pacific-10...First-team Pac-10 All-Academic...First-team District VIII GTE Academic All-America...Finished second in the NCAA in hitting percentage...Tied for the Pac-10 lead in blocks per game (1.33)...Was selected to represent UCLA at the NCAA Foundation Leadership Conference, but was unable to attend because the dates conflicted with the U.S. Open Nationals.
