2002 – One of the UCLA Athletic Department’s top student-athletes, Gaskins last spring earned first-team Academic All-Pac-10, with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.813 (communications major) … She had the highest gpa on the Bruin women’s track & field team and the ninth-highest gpa among UCLA women’s athletes … … For the last two seasons, she’s been an alternate on the Bruin relays at the NCAA Outdoor meets … At the Pac-10 meet, she ran the second leg on UCLA’s 4 X 100m relay (5th, 46.53) and also qualified in the 400m hurdles … Versatile, last season she ran a 25.41i (200m), 58.62 (400m) and a personal-best 1:00.24 (400m hurdles).
