Sophomore Jamie Dantzscher (San Dimas, Calif., San Dimas HS) of the UCLA Gymnastics Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 23-27.
Dantzscher won every event on which she competed at Arizona Jan. 25, placing first on vault (9.925), bars (season-high tying 9.975) and floor (career-high tying 10.0). Her 10 on floor was her third consecutive and her fourth perfect 10 in as many meets. Dantzscher now has 11 career 10s, improving upon her own school record.
Dantzscher ranks first nationally on the uneven bars (9.919 average) and vault (9.95), 19th on floor (9.885) and ninth in the all-around (39.312).
This is Dantzcher's first UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and the second of her career.
