Sasha Victorine

Sport: Men's Soccer

Year: Senior

Position: Midfielder

Hometown: Corona, CA

High School: Rio Americano

Past Profiles:
Venus James (Women's Soccer)
Sean Kern (Men's Water Polo)

If You Could Eat One Food for the Rest of Your Life it Would Be?:
Ribs

TV Show You Can't Miss:
Friends. Also, Stark Raving Mad.

Opponent You'd Most Like to Beat:
Cal State Fullerton. They always give us trouble.

Favorite Hang Out:
The beach. I like Manhattan Beach or Malibu.

Sport Other Than Soccer You Would Play:
Basketball

Favorite Soccer Team:
Manchester United

One Word That Describes You:
Vision. I'm able to see a lot of things on the field when I'm out there.

Best Book You've Read:
I really liked Catch 22 when I read that in high school.

When You're Not Playing Soccer You Like To?:
Play other sports like basketball. Just relax. Maybe go to the beach. I like to hike to, but I haven't really gotten around to it.

Superstitions:
Before a game I always put stuff on my left foot first like shoes, socks and shingards. I just started doing that one day.

Most Memorable Moment at UCLA:
Probably during the final four when we won it in 1997. Kevin Coye, Pete Vagenas, Kevin Perrault and I were in the stands. We were all hurt and Kevin (Perrault) was there in case Nick Rimando got hurt. For the Indiana game we dressed up, took our shirts off and painted ourselves. It was 18-degree weather and freezing out there.

In 10 Years You See Yourself:
Hopefully still playing soccer. If that's not an option, maybe coaching. If that's not a possiblility, I can see myself being an economist.

MLS or Overseas?:
It depends, if I could play for Manchester United or another top club I'd probably play overseas. That's a tough question. I'd like to play in the U.S. If everything was equal, I'd love to play in the U.S., but there are a lot of factors that get in the way of that.

What Will You Miss Most About UCLA?:
Probably hanging out with the guys on the team. Just the whole college atmosphere.

Northern or Southern California?:
Southern California. I only lived in Northern California for six years so I've spent a majority of my life down here.

If You Were Going on a Road Trip and Could Only Take One CD, it Would Be:
Blink 182. Their newest album.

Favorite Non-Soccer Sports Team:
The L.A. Lakers. When I was growing up there was a guy that lived across the street from me that watched every Lakers game. He used to run out of the house screaming every time something good happened. I'd always run outside wondering what was going on. Eventually that got me into the games.

If You Could Visit Somewhere You've Never Been it Would Be?:
I'd love to go to the Carribean. That sounds like a lot of fun. I'd also like to go to Sweden. I have some heritage there, but it just sounds like a good place to visit.

Best Trip You've Taken:
Probably to Toulon, France with the U.S. Under-20 National Team. We stayed on an island off the French Riviera and it was unbelieveable.

Best Movie You've Seen Lately:
American Beauty was great. My favorite movies of all time have to be the Star Wars Trilogies.

What Was it Like Representing the United States on the National Team?:
At first you are really excited to go there, but it doesn't really hit you until you put your hand over your heart and hear the national anthem. That's when you feel a shiver go down your spine and you really feel like you've accomplished a lot.
