Senior catcher/first baseman Stacey Nuveman (LaVerne, Calif./St. Lucy Priory HS) of the UCLA Softball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 19-24.
For the week's four games, Nuveman went 10-for-12 for a .833 batting average. She had two home runs and two doubles contributing to a 1.500 slugging percentage, and is now hitting .592 with a 1.163 slugging percentage and a .718 on-base percentage for the season.
On Wednesday against UC Riverside, Nuveman went 1-for-1 with a home run in her only at-bat, recording four RBIs and a run scored to go along with her three walks. Her worst offensive performance of the week came in game two against the Highlanders, a game in which she went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
In Saturday's doubleheader against Long Beach State, Nuveman turned in a 4-for-4 performance in UCLA's game-one loss, recording two doubles and a walk. In game two, she went 3-for-3 with four RBI, three runs scored, and a three-run home run that traveled 300+ feet.
This is Nuveman's first UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and her career.
