Women's Golf Advances to NCAA East Regional

The eighth-ranked UCLA women's golf team advanced to the 2013 NCAA East Regional, the NCAA announced Monday. The Bruins will join 23 other teams and six individuals at the Auburn University Club in Auburn, AL, May 9-11.
The Bruins will play in their 19th consecutive regional event dating to the beginning of the regional qualification system in 1995. Under Hall of Fame Coach Carrie Forsyth, the Bruins will be playing in their 14th straight regional championship. She has guided UCLA to 11 straight regional podium finishes and seven titles, including the 2011 and 2012 crowns.
In 2013 the Bruins have won a pair of team tournament titles, tied for first in another and finished among the Top 5 in two other starts. They began the season without their best player - senior Tiffany Lua - and struggled in the Fall. In the Winter and Spring, the Bruins solid success, rising from 37th in the national rankings to eighth.
The Auburn University Club will play to a par of 72 over 6,259 yards.
