UCLA (42-17) won the Los Angeles Regional by winning all three of the games that it played. UCLA then wrapped up the Regional with a 6-0 shutout victory over San Diego.
Cal State Fullerton (51-8) advanced to the NCAA Super Regionals after winning the Fullerton Regional at Goodwin Field.
The Bruins and Titans will be meeting for the fourth time in the postseason in the last seven years. In 2007, the Titans defeated the Bruins in the NCAA Fullerton Super Regional before beating UCLA again in the 2008 NCAA Fullerton Regional. The Bruins exacted revenge in 2010, taking the final two games of the NCAA Los Angeles Super Regional to advance to the College World Series. UCLA and Cal State Fullerton met two times this season with the Titans winning both matchups.
