"Adopt A Classroom"

We know you are busy planning your group's trip to UCLA and have many questions. Please read this page carefully and completely before contacting us with questions. Chances are you'll find the answers here! We also encourage you to share this information with the other chaperones in your group so everyone is on the same page. Thanks for your patience and cooperation - we look forward to seeing you on campus soon!

ATTENDANCE

Q: Do we have to attend the event?
A: Yes. Please consider the date of the Adopt A Classroom Day and your classroom’s ability to attend before deciding to participate, as the program is most effective when the children are able to visit UCLA and see their Bruin student-athlete in action.

Q: Can an athlete come to my school in addition?
A: It is possible that a student athlete can visit your school campus, however, during season the athletes are unable to do so. In addition, the athletes are not allowed to visit any school outside of a 50-mile radius of UCLA. Taking this into consideration, if you would still like to have a student athlete visit your school, contact Ashley Armstrong at (310) 206-7121.

CONTACT INFORMATION

Q: Do I have to provide UCLA with an e-mail address?
A: It is highly recommended that you provide UCLA with an e-mail address. Our number one method of correspondence is through e-mail and by not providing an e-mail address, you may jeopardize receiving pertinent information in a timely manner.

EVENT/PROGRAM

Q: How does this program work?
A: Once you have chosen which sport you would like to participate with, we will contact the student athletes and let them know. The student athlete will then send his/her first correspondence to your classroom. Then, your classroom should respond to this letter either on an individual basis or as a classroom. After this, you will receive a confirmation and itinerary for the game in which you have chosen to attend. You will attend this game. Your classroom will then have the chance to obtain autographs from the entire Bruin team when they attend the specified event.

Q: Can we participate with more than one sport??
A: No. To avoid confusion, we ask that you only participate in one sport per quarter.

Q: How long does the event last?
A: UCLA Athletic events last approximately two to three hours. Please allow about 30 minutes post-game for the autograph session.

Q: Will there be food available at this event?
A: There is food available for purchase all of UCLA’s athletic venues. You may also bring bag lunches; however, aluminum cans and glass bottles are not permissible at any venue.

Q: What if it rains?
A: If it rains the day of the event (baseball and softball only), a decision to call the game will be made 2 hours prior to the start of the game. Please check uclabruins.com or call 310-UCLA-WIN for the most up-to-date information on whether or not the game has been postponed or cancelled.

TICKETS

Q: Is there a limit on how many tickets we can request?
A: UCLA does not limit the amount of tickets you can request for this event; however we do ask that you use all the tickets you have requested. Make sure to include the total number of people that will be attending with your group in your ticket request. This number can include parents, siblings and chaperones as well.

TRANSPORTATION

Q: Will UCLA provide our school with a bus?
A: Unfortunately, we are not able to provide free buses for any groups. We recommend contacting your local councilperson or the bus companies directly to see if they are able to donate a bus for this trip.

Q: What is UCLA’s address and where should the buses drop off our group?
A: The general address for UCLAis 325 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90024. Please refer to the (http://www.ucla.edu/pdf/ucla-campus-map.pdf) campus map for directions to specific venues.
