Rachel Fattal: MPSF Player of the Week
Junior Rachel Fattal (Seal Beach, CA/Los Alamitos HS) was named the MPSF/KAP7 Player of the Week for women’s water polo, the conference announced this week.
Fattal scored four goals and recorded three steals, two field blocks and an assist in the Bruins’ 9-5 regular season finale win over No. 3 USC on Apr. 18. With USC threatening in the fourth quarter, Fattal scored the final two UCLA goals to put the game out of reach in the waning minutes.
Fattal leads the Bruins with 43 goals, 56 steals and 13 field blocks entering the postseason. She ranks third on the team with 16 assists.
This is Fattal’s second player of the week award in 2015 (Feb. 17).
The No. 2 Bruins (21-2) meet Cal State Bakersfield (12-15) in the quarterfinals of the 2015 MPSF Tournament Championship at Arizona State on Friday. First sprint is scheduled for 10 a.m. at ASU’s Mona Plummer Aquatics Center.
