No. 2 Bruins Meet Roadrunners in MPSF Quarterfinals Friday

The Bruins (21-2, 5-1) finished second to Stanford in the MPSF race. They beat CSU Bakersfield (12-15, 0-6) 17-3 on Mar. 17 behind Kodi Hill’s three goals and two goals each from five other players. The Bruins’ 17 goals marked their highest total this season against a conference opponent. The Roadrunners’ three goals scored were the least this season against an MPSF team.
The Bruins lead the series 4-0 and are 1-0 against CSUB in the MPSF playoffs.
In the conference statistics this week, the Bruins emerged as the league’s top defensive team, allowing an MPSF-best 4.57 goals per game. Goalkeeper Sami Hill leads the conference with her 4.47 goals allowed average.
In victories over USC (5-3, Feb. 22) and Stanford (7-6, Feb. 22) the Bruins limited those teams to season-lows in goals scored. Both USC and Stanford are the highest-scoring teams in the MPSF.
