Polyakova Dives at FINA World Series in Russia

KAZAN, Russia - Coming off a successful freshman season, Maria Polyakova was in her native country this weekend to participate in the FINA World Series, her first-ever trip to that meet. The FINA World Series is the most prestigious and exclusive event for divers. Polyakova placed second in the 3-Meter at the Russian National Championships in January to earn her invitation to the World Series.
Polyakova, who earlier this month was named Pac-12 Conference Newcomer of the Year, finished sixth in the A semifinal of the 3-Meter with a five-dive (one less than collegiate meets) score of 270.00.
