2015 NFL Draft Kicks Off on Thursday

The NFL Draft, which is being held in Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre and Grant Park, will be televised by both ESPN/ESPN2 and the NFL Network starting at 5 p.m. PT on Thursday. The second and third rounds of the draft will be broadcast on Friday, May 1 beginning at 4 p.m. PT. Rounds four through seven will take place on Saturday, May 2, starting at 9 a.m. PT. The event will also be radio broadcast by Sirius XM NFL Radio (Ch. 88) and ESPN Radio. It will be streamed over WatchESPN and NFL.com.
NFL teams have made 30 UCLA player selections in the first round of the draft, dating back to Cal Rossi in 1947, the No. 4 overall pick by the Redskins. The most recent Bruin first-round selection was last year by Minnesota, which tabbed linebacker Anthony Barr with the 9th pick of the initial round.
In five previous drafts, UCLA has had multiple players selected in round one –-- 1947 – Cal Rossi, Washington-No. 4/ Ernie Case, Green Bay-No. 6; 1961 – Jimmy Johnson, San Francisco-No. 6/ Bill Kilmer, San Francisco-No. 11; 1974 – Bill Sandifer, San Francisco-No. 10/ Fred McNeill, Minnesota-No. 17; 1979 – Manu Tuiasosopo, Seattle-No. 18/ Jerry Robinson, Philadelphia-No. 21; 1981 – Freeman McNeil, New York Jets-No. 3/ Kenny Easley, Seattle-No. 4. Quarterback Troy Aikman is the sole Bruin to be taken with the first overall pick in the draft (1989).
UCLA had five players picked in the 2014 NFL Draft – linebacker Anthony Barr (rd. 1-Minnesota), offensive lineman Xavier Su’a-Filo (rd. 2-Houston), defensive lineman Cassius Marsh (rd. 4-Seattle), wide receiver Shaq Evans (rd. 4-NYJ), linebacker Jordan Zumwalt (rd. 6-Pittsburgh). The last time the Bruins had more than five players selected in the draft was in 2002 – linebacker Robert Thomas (rd. 1), running back DeShaun Foster (rd. 2), safety Marques Anderson (rd. 3), defensive lineman Kenyon Coleman (rd. 5), tight end Bryan Fletcher (rd. 6), long snapper Jeff Grau (rd. 7).
