Redlicki Named Pac-12 Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO - UCLA freshman has been named the Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week for play from Mar. 30-Apr. 5, the Conference office announced today.
Redlicki (Boca Raton, Fla.) lifted the Bruin men to a pair of Pac-12 shutouts last week with victories at No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles. In the 4-0 victory over Arizona on Friday, Redlicki posted a 6-2, 6-3 singles victory then teamed up with Mackenzie McDonald to take a 6-2 victory in doubles. On Sunday against Utah, the freshman had another straight-set win in singles, throwing up a 6-2, 6-1 win after partnering with McDonald for a 6-4 doubles win as the Bruins went on to win the match, 7-0. Redlicki, the 121st-ranked player in the nation, teams up with McDonald to form the nation’s seventh-ranked doubles team.
It marks the second-career weekly selection for Redlicki and the 26th all-time men’s selection for UCLA. The Bruins have now had back-to-back winners as senior Dennis Mkrtchian earned the same award the previous week.
The UCLA men travel to the Bay Area to play at Stanford on Friday, Apr. 10 and at California on Saturday, Apr. 11.
