Seven Bruins Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

LOS ANGELES – The Pac-12 Conference named their All-Academic teams on Thursday and seven UCLA Baseball student-athletes have been honored.
Junior Nick Kern was named to the second team, while Christoph Bono, Scott Burke, Tucker Forbes, Cody Poteet, Brett Stephens and Grant Watson were each named honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection to the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Kern, a Physiological Sciences major, was an honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic selection last season. On the field, the Brea, Calif. native made 33 relief appearances as a pitcher last season before primarily serving as a designated hitter and pinch-runner in 2015.
Bono earns his third-straight honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic selection, while Poteet and Watson each earn their second-straight. For Burke, Forbes and Stephens, this is their first honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic honor.
