Team USA Tennis Concludes Play at WUG
Gwangju, Korea - UCLA's Martin Redlicki and Chanelle Van Nguyen fell in the mixed doubles draw at the World University Games on Thursday, concluding Team USA's involvement in the event.
After not dropping a game in their opening-round victory on Wednesday, Redlicki and Van Nguyen weren't able to overcome fifth-seeded Polina Merenkova and Shonigmatjon Shofayziev, falling 7-5, 7-5 on Thursday. It marked the last main-draw match for Team USA in tennis.
Also on Thursday, UCLA's Austin Rapp suffered a straight-set loss in the consolation singles draw, suffering a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Japan's Daiki Kondo.
