Selected in last month’s NBA Draft, former UCLA standouts Kevon Looney (Golden State Warriors) and Norman Powell (Toronto Raptors) will play in the summer league games in Las Vegas, beginning on Friday. Also in action in Las Vegas will be Travis Wear (New York Knicks), Zach LaVine (Minnesota Timberwolves), Larry Drew II (New Orleans Pelicans) and Lazeric Jones (New Orleans).
Adams concluded his four-game stint with Memphis having averaged 16.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Through three games with the Spurs, Anderson averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per contest. David Wear registered 4.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in two contests with the Detroit Pistons.
Both Adams and Anderson played for the Bruins in 2012-13 and 2013-14 before getting selected after their sophomore seasons in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft. They were joined in that season’s draft class by then-freshman Zach LaVine, who was the No. 13 overall pick by Minnesota in the 2014 draft.
David and Travis Wear competed in the NBA during the 2014-15 as undrafted free agents. Travis spent the entire season on the New York Knicks’ roster, averaging 3.9 points and 2.1 rebounds in 51 contests. David played in two games for the Sacramento Kings. The twin brothers from Huntington Beach, Calif., played three seasons with UCLA (2011-12 through 2013-14).
Looney concluded his freshman season last March, after having averaged 11.6 points and 9.2 rebounds per game at UCLA. He was selected as the No. 30 overall pick in last June’s NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors.
Powell played in all 141 games for UCLA the previous four seasons. He averaged a team-leading 16.4 points per game as a senior in 2014-15, before being chosen as the No. 46 pick in the draft (selected by Milwaukee before being acquired by the Toronto Raptors).
Drew II spent his senior season playing for the Bruins (2012-13) after having transferred from North Carolina. As UCLA’s point guard in 2012-13, he averaged 7.5 points and a team-leading 7.3 assists per game on a team that won the Pac-12’s regular-season crown.
Jones played for the Bruins in 2010-11 and 2011-12 after transferring to Westwood from Logan Junior College (Chicago). In two seasons at UCLA, he averaged 11.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.
