Postgame Notes - UCLA at Oregon (Nov. 3, 2018)
UCLA GAME NOTES
*Joshua Kelley registered his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season at Oregon with a career-best 161-yard effort. The school mark for most 100-yard rushing games in a season belongs to Johnathan Franklin, with 9 in the 2012 campaign. Kelley’s total of five games is the most by a Bruin back in a season since Paul Perkins also had five 100-yard games in the 2015 season. Perkins had six 100-yard games in 2014.
*Joshua Kelley also had a career-best six receptions versus Oregon, marking the fifth game this season he has grabbed at least three passes in a game.
*Theo Howard has now caught a pass in each of his last 25 straight games. He caught the eighth scoring pass of his career, third of 2018, in the fourth quarter. Howard had five catches in the contest to move him within one catch (107 for his career) of moving into the all-time school career top 20 list for receptions. (T19th are Karl Dorrell, 1982-86 and Cormac Carney, 1980-82 with 108 career catches).
*UCLA is plus-seven in turnovers in wins and minus-six in its losses (Oppt. 6, UCLA 12 turnovers) this season. All three Bruin turnovers at Oregon led to Duck points in tonight’s game (three touchdowns).
*UCLA racked up a season-best 496 yards of total offense against the Ducks (199 rush, 297 pass) on a season-high 87 plays. The previous best was 460 yards against Arizona on 82 plays.
*Caleb Wilson made his third career touchdown reception in the second quarter at Oregon, a 63-yard catch-and-run. It was Wilson’s second reception of over 60 yards this season (also had 65-yard non-scoring catch at Oklahoma).
*Adarius Pickett finished with 11 tackles to produce the team tackle high for the seventh time this season. It was the fifth double-digit effort of this season and the eighth of his career. He now has 95 tackles in 2018, a new season high and is approaching the 100-tackle mark for this first time in his career.
*JJ Molson’s three points vs. the Ducks moves him past Gary Beban (214) into 12th on the all-time school scoring list with 216 career points.
*JJ Molson’s 56-yard field goal attempt to end the first half would have tied him for the second-longest field goal in school history (Chris Sailer at Oregon, 1997). Ka’imi Fairbairn owns the school mark with a 60-yard conversion against Cal in 2015.
*The Bruins will be back in action next Saturday, Nov. 10 at Arizona State. Kickoff will be at 11 a.m. PT / Noon MT and the game will be broadcast by the Pac-12 Network.
