- Linebacker Lokeni Toailoa led UCLA with 10 tackles, which included 2.5 tackles for loss. Both totals were career-highs.
- UCLA had converted 19 of its previous 20 trips into the red zone (over previous 5 games) into points before coming up empty on 3 out of 4 trips vs. Utah.
- Devin Asiasi had a career-best five receptions against Utah. He also recorded his fifth reception of the season of 20 yards or more with a 26-yard catch-and-run in the fourth quarter. It was his 10th career reception of at least 20 yards. His total of 72 receiving yards was also a career-best mark.
- UCLA recorded a field goal on its initial drive of the game against Utah. The Bruins have scored on the first possession in seven of the 10 games this season.
- This was the first game of the season in which Dorian Thompson-Robinson did not throw at least one scoring pass.
- The Bruins failed to score a touchdown in a game for the first time since a 2011 contest at USC in which it was shut out.
- The Bruins rushed for a total of 50 yards against Utah. That snapped a streak of five straight games in which it had reached the 200-yard mark in rushing (longest UCLA streak since it ran off six straight in 1978).
- The 50 yards rushing was the lowest by a Bruin team since it totaled 25 yards on the ground in a 2016 game at Colorado.
- UCLA is now minus 11 in turnovers in its losses this season after having 5 turnovers and forcing 1 Utah miscue. The five turnovers by UCLA marked a season-high surpassing the total of four in the opener at Cincinnati.
- The Bruins are 2-2 this season against ranked teams after the loss at No. 8 Utah. (Loss to then-No. 5 Oklahoma and wins over then-No. 19 Washington State and No. 24 Arizona State).
- JJ Molson’s 43-yard first-quarter field goal was the 49th his career. He is seventh on the all-time school field goal list, one behind Alfredo Velasco (1986-89) who has 50.
