Team Notes
-UCLA’s win tonight over Stanford was the first series win at home over the Cardinal since the 2008 season. UCLA has won its last eight overall games played in the Rose Bowl against all opponents over the past two seasons. The Bruins have also won the last five Pac-12 games played in the Rose Bowl.
-UCLA is 12-1 in games in which Zach Charbonnet runs for at least 100 yards.
-The last game in which UCLA did not allow an opponent touchdown was in a 2015 contest at Utah in which the Utes kicked three field goals in a 17-9 Bruin win.
-After tonight’s total of 324 yards on the ground, UCLA has surpassed the 200-yard rushing mark in five games this season (Stanford, Utah, Colorado, Alabama State, Bowling Green).
-UCLA eclipsed the 300-yard rushing mark as a team for the first time this season, and for the first time overall since Oct. 9, 2021 at Arizona (329 yards).
-UCLA has now won 44 straight games overall and 63 straight regular season games in which it has held the opponent to fewer than 20 points. Last such loss was in 2007 to BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl. Its last such regular season loss was a 16-14 decision at Colorado in 2003.
-UCLA improved its overall record to 7-1 on the 2022 season with the win over Stanford. It is the first time since 2005 (when it had 8 wins) that a Bruin team has entered the month of November with at least 7 wins.
Individual Notes
-Zach Charbonnet recorded his 13th career 100-yard game against Stanford. That ties him with his position coach, DeShaun Foster (1998-2001) for sixth on the all-time school list for 100-yard games. It is the sixth 100-yard rushing game of the season by Charbonnet. He has run for at least 100 yards in each of his last five overall games. He has also tallied 100-yards rushing in each of his last seven games against Pac-12 opponents, including all five this season.
-Zach Charbonnet ran for three touchdowns against Stanford this evening. It was the second time this season in which he has scored three rushing TDs (also Colorado). Charbonnet ran for three TDs in two 2021 games (Hawai’i, at Colorado). In 2019, he also ran for three TDs in a game against Army while playing for Michigan. Charbonnet has rushed for at least one TD in each of the last nine games against Pac-12 teams. Charbonnet’s first quarter 23-yard touchdown run against Stanford marked the fifth straight game in which he has rushed for at least one touchdown this season.
-Zach Charbonnet tied his career-best with 198 rushing yards (also vs. Utah in 2022). With those 198 rushing yards, he became the 18th Bruin rusher to surpass the 2,000-yard career mark. Charbonnet now has 2,101 rushing yards as a Bruin.
-Darius Muasau’s first-quarter interception was his second of the 2022 season. He also picked off a pass against Utah earlier this season. Muasau had two interceptions in two seasons at Hawai’i.
-Dorian Thompson-Robinson moved past Josh Rosen (2015-17 -- 9,341 yards) and into No. 3 on the all-time UCLA passing yards list during the first half of play against Stanford. Thompson-Robinson finished the Stanford game with 199 passing yards and a career total of 9,512 yards. No. 2 on the list is Brett Hundley (2011-14) who threw for 9,966 yards.
-Dorian Thompson-Robinson made his 43rd career start against Stanford. He is closing in on all-time UCLA leader in quarterback starts Cade McNown (1995-98) who has a total of 44.
-Safety Stephan Blaylock started his 39th straight game against Stanford. Offensive lineman Craig Novitsky (1990-93) owns the school mark with 46 consecutive starts.
-Kazmeir Allen’s 72-yard touchdown run against Stanford was the longest by a Bruin rusher since Demetric Felton Jr. raced 75 yards for a score against Oregon State in 2019.
