Player Notes
 
– Dorian Thompson-Robinson started his 38th game for the Bruins, tying Drew Olson for third all-time among UCLA quarterbacks.
– With his third touchdown pass of the game, Thompson-Robinson (67 TDs) ties Drew Olson for third all-time in passing touchdowns for the Bruins.
– Redshirt junior Kam Brown caught his first touchdown of the 2022 season, marking the third of his UCLA career. The wide receiver last found the endzone at Washington on Oct. 16, 2021.
– Senior Zach Charbonnet collected over 100 yards for his fourth-consecutive game, finishing Saturday’s contest with 129 total yards. Charbonnet now has nine games with 100+ yards in a Bruin uniform.
– Junior JonJon Vaughns recorded his first career interception during the first drive of the game.
– Redshirt senior Jake Bobo hauled in his first touchdown for the Bruins with an impressive grab late in the second quarter.
– Bobo led the Bruins in receiving yards (89) and receptions (5) for the first time in his UCLA career.
– Kicker Nicholas Barr-Mira jumped up to 19th on UCLA’s all-time scoring list after putting up 14 points in the game, tying Joe Fleming with 173 career points.
– Barr-Mira launched in a 49-yard field goal in the middle of the first quarter to set a new career long. The redshirt junior’s previous record was a 48-yarder against Arizona on Oct. 9, 2021.
– Barr-Mira’s game-winning field goal marks the 11th time a UCLA kicker converted a last-minute or overtime attempt to win the game. The last kicker to do so was J.J. Molson against California on Nov. 24, 2017.
– Redshirt sophomore Choé Bryant-Strother forced his first-career fumble, stripping South Alabama’s La’Damian Webb in the third quarter.
– Sophomore Titus Mokiao-Atimalala wrangled his first catches for the Bruins on a scoring drive late in the fourth quarter.
 
 
Team Notes
 
– UCLA extended its scoring streak to 23-consecutive quarters in Saturday’s game. The Bruins were last held scoreless in a quarter in the opening period against Colorado on Nov. 13, 2021.
– The Bruins have allowed opponents to score first twice in three games, but UCLA outscored those opponents 77-34 after the initial let-ups.
– The Bruins allowed an opposing rusher to have over 100 yards for the first time since facing Colorado last season (Nov. 13, 2021). South Alabama’s La’Damian Webb finished with 124 rushing yards.
– The Bruins have surpassed the 400-yard mark for the third-consecutive game, finishing Saturday’s contest with 407 total yards.
– With the game-winning field goal, UCLA has now scored the last points of a game to win by seven or fewer on 49 occasions. The last game in which UCLA scored on a final drive in a one-score game was at Arizona State on Dec. 5, 2020.
