Kelly Inouye-Perez, The Shelly Carlin UCLA Head Softball Coach

opening statement
"Just want to start by saying credit to GCU. We outhit them, but they came through in critical situations with runners in scoring position. So, credit to them. And I think coach did a great job of switching it up and changing up the momentum with different pitchers that we weren't able to capitalize on. But great teams put themselves in the position to win and we did that. We had the ability to walk that off -- and Megan Grant, credit her as a freshman to be able to come in and do what she did tonight is just impressive and exciting about the rest of postseason. But, a lot of things we can stop and take a look...you realize in postseason that you can't take a pitch off. You have to be able to get out there and do what you came here to do, and tonight wasn't our night."

UCLA outfielder Janelle Meoño
on her mentality going into her 7th inning at-bat
"Throughout the at-bat, I knew that I wasn't going to win the game by myself. I knew that I wanted to turn over the line. I literally told Megan [Grant] when she passed me the bat...I said, "I want to give you an at-bat so bad." And, I knew that I just wanted to get on to try and get more at-bats for the team."

UCLA pitcher Megan Faraimo
on facing Grand Canyon's offense
"I think especially in the postseason every team gives us their absolute best and obviously you have to respect all the bats. They've all earned the right to be here and make it this far. So, for me, it's that one pitch...it's every single pitch you have to focus up and you can't afford to make one mistake. So it's just that for me that I got to work on and have my team's back."
