Bruins on Tour

UCLA History on the LPGA Tour
Twenty-eight UCLA women's golf alumnae have appeared on the LPGA Tour and seven Bruins have won a total of 13 LPGA Tour events. Currently, there are eight Bruins competing on the LPGA Tour: Lilia Vu, Patty Tavatanakit, Ryann O'Toole, Alison Lee, Brianna Do, Bronte Law, Sydnee Michaels and Louise Ridderström.
Janet Coles (1975-76) became the first Bruin to notch a victory on Tour in 1978 when she won the Natural Light Lady Tara Classic at Brookfield West Golf & Country Club in Roswell, Georgia. Including Coles, seven UCLA golfers have won an LPGA event and three have won a major championship.
Lilia Vu: 2023 Rolex Player of the Year
Lilia Vu (2015-18) added yet another milestone achievement when she was crowned as Rolex Player of the Year at just 26 years old to cap a magical 2023. The former UCLA All-American won four events, including two major championships at The Chevron Championship and AIG Women's British Open, and posted three other top-10 results in the most dominant season of her early career. Vu, who also won the Honda LPGA Thailand and The ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge at Pelican in 2023, became the first Bruin since Coles to claim multiple Tour victories. She is the third UCLA golfer to have won a major championship and is the first to win multiple majors. She joined Melissa "Mo" Martin (2000-05) who was the first Bruin to win a major at the 2014 Ricoh British Open at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club in Southport, England and Patty Tavatanakit (2017-19) who won the 2021 ANA Inspiration Championship.
Vu's career has been storybook. She capped a storied amateur run in 2018, being named the WGCA Player of the Year in her final season at UCLA. However, Vu made just one cut over nine starts in her 2019 rookie campaign on the LPGA Tour and considered quitting professional golf for good. After a demotion to the Epson Tour, Vu climbed and climbed, falling back in love with the game. In 2021, she added Epson Player of the Year to her trophy case. And in 2023, she rose to the top of the world.
