UCLA Officially Joins Big Ten Conference

LOS ANGELES โ UCLA officially joined the Big Ten Conference on Friday, ushering in a new era in the Bruinsโ storied and illustrious athletic tradition. UCLA, along with previous conference foes Oregon, USC and Washington, have moved to an 18-team Big Ten Conference with a footprint spanning from the Pacific to the Atlantic.
UCLAโs approaching membership in the Big Ten Conference was initially announced more than two years ago, on June 30, 2022.

UCLA will compete against Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Purdue, Rutgers, USC, Washington and Wisconsin in the new-look Big Ten Conference, starting this fall.
The Bruinsโ first home Big Ten Conference game will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14, as the UCLA football team will host Indiana at 4:30 pm PT. UCLAโs home contest against Indiana at the Rose Bowl will be televised on NBC and streamed on Peacock (full football schedule).
In addition, both UCLA soccer teams will be in action with their Big Ten debuts that week. The menโs soccer team travels to play at Northwestern (Evanston, Ill.) on Friday, Sept. 13. The womenโs soccer team will open its Big Ten schedule at Oregon (Eugene, Ore.) on Saturday, Sept. 14.
UCLAโs football team will play nine Big Ten teams in a 12-game regular-season schedule. Home matchups in Big Ten action this season will include Indiana (Sept. 14), Oregon (Sept. 28), Minnesota (Oct. 12), Iowa (Nov. 8), and crosstown rival USC (Nov. 23). The Big Ten Conference will host its league championship contest at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., on Saturday, Dec. 7.
The Big Ten schedules for both menโs and womenโs basketball have not been finalized. The menโs basketball team will play 20 Big Ten contests (10 at home, 10 on the road). The womenโs basketball team will compete in an 18-game Big Ten slate during the 2024-25 season (nine games at home, nine on the road).

Over the Years: UCLA has won 123 NCAA team titles in its athletic history, which ranks second in the nation (behind Stanford) and first among all 18 Big Ten Conference programs. USC ranks second in the Big Ten with 113 team titles, while Penn State ranks third (54). Over the past 20 years, UCLA has captured 88 conference titles (both regular-season and tournaments) across 17 sports. That total of 88 titles includes 14 from menโs tennis, 10 from womenโs soccer, nine from womenโs gymnastics, eight from menโs basketball, eight from womenโs water polo, seven from menโs soccer, and seven from softball. Most recently, the UCLA athletics department won two NCAA championships during the 2023-24 academic year โ in menโs volleyball and womenโs water polo, both in May of 2024.
