Chris Caminiti was promoted to Associate Athletic Director, Sports and Administration in April of 2016. Caminiti began at UCLA in 2013 and has served in a number of roles on staff including; Special Teams Analyst & Director of Advanced Scouting.
Prior to joining UCLA, Caminiti served as the Director of Football Operations for the Kansas City Chiefs (2009-2010), Assistant Special Teams Coach/Head Coach Liaison for the Cleveland Browns (2007-2008), Athletic Director at West Los Angeles College (2005-2006) and Director of Operations for the New England Patriots (2002-2004)
In his current role Caminiti provides oversight and direction of the football program and is responsible for the management and budget of all aspects of football related activity, as well as coaching and support staff contract negotiation. Additionally, he serves as the University and Athletic Director’s primary liaison to the football program.
His duties in the NFL front office were multiple including working with the player personnel and coaching departments. This included, but was not exclusive to, contracts and contract negotiations, all team and organizational travel coordination, mini-camps and training camp, free agency and the NFL draft, player evaluations, player programs, public relations, and special events. In addition, the football operation department served as the liaison between all related business departments, ownership and the head football coach.
As the athletic director at West Los Angeles College, Caminiti played an instrumental role in the creation of three new athletics programs; men’s baseball, women’s soccer and women’s volleyball. As well as provided budget oversight, compliance and successful leadership of the college’s seven additional athletic programs.
Caminiti also has had prior coaching experience as the head football coach at Granite Hills High School (El Cajon, CA) (2001), University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2000), Occidental College, Los Angeles (1997-1999), University of San Diego (1996) and Cheshire (CT) High School (1992-1995).
Personal: Caminiti earned his Master’s degree at Southern Connecticut State University in 1994 and his Bachelors in 1992. Chris and his wife Emerly have three children.
