- Title:
- Strength & Conditioning Coordinator
Sal Alosi enters his fifth season as the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the UCLA Football team. Coach Alosi’s impact is easily evidenced in the numerous individual and team accomplishments that the Bruins have achieved on the field. Since he has arrived in Westwood, the UCLA Football team has won 37 games- more than any previous UCLA team in a 4-year span. Additionally, 20 Bruins were selected in the NFL Draft and another 10 signed free agent contracts during his tenure. What is perhaps most telling of Coach Alosi’s impact is the offseason program that nearly all of the NFL alumni that previously worked with Coach Alosi come back to participate in, years into their professional careers.
In addition to his work in strength and conditioning, Alosi oversees the Bruin football nutrition program as well as working closely with the medical and training staffs to develop and implement injury prevention and injury rehabilitation programs.
Alosi came to UCLA after serving as the head strength and conditioning coach at Bryant University (Rhode Island) in 2011, where he directed all 22 of the Bulldogs’ varsity programs. Alosi’s skill and knowledge in the weight room played a vital role in the development of the Bryant athletic department in its final year of transition to full Division I status.
Prior to working at Bryant, Alosi spent nine years in the NFL, where he served as the head strength and conditioning coach for both the New York Jets and the Atlanta Falcons. A four-year letter winner and linebacker at Hofstra University, Alosi led the Pride to back-to-back Division I-AA (now FCS) quarterfinal playoff appearances in 1999 and 2000 and topped the team in tackles as a senior.
