Jordan Smith enters his first season as the executive director of football operations for the UCLA football program in 2026. This marks Smith’s fifth year in a director of operations role, all with head coach Bob Chesney.
Smith arrived in Westwood after spending the last two seasons as the senior director of football operations at James Madison in 2024-25. The Dukes posted 21-6 overall record during Smith’s stint in Harrisonburg, Va., and in 2025, won the Sun Belt Championship and earned a berth into the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history.
Smith followed Chesney from FCS Holy Cross where he spent four seasons from 2020-23, including the last two as the director of operations. He began his time in Worcester, Mass. as a volunteer digital operations and video coordinator.
Prior to Holy Cross, Smith served as the video coordinator, football operations assistant and student equipment manager for FCS Dayton from 2017-19. In Summer 2019, Jordan worked for the Arena Football League's Philadelphia Soul as a football operations intern.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., Smith graduated from Dayton in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management and business administration.
