Matthew Hull was born in Truckee, Calif., and has grown up in Newport Beach, Calif. … is the oldest of Michele and Brian Hull’s three children … has two younger brothers, Trent and Beckham … has multiple family members who attended and graduated from UCLA, including his mother, Michele … his late grandfather, Terry Donahue, played football at UCLA in the 1960s and concluded a remarkable 20-year career as the Bruins’ head football coach in 1995 with a career coaching record of 151-74-8 … Coach Donahue led the Bruins to 13 bowl games and four Rose Bowls … his uncle, Tayt Ianni, played on the men’s soccer team at UCLA from 1990-93, helping lead the Bruins to the NCAA men’s soccer championship as a freshman in 1990 … other relatives who have attended UCLA include two of his aunts, Nicole Donahue Ianni and Jennifer Donahue Palmer … lists his greatest athletic thrill to date as sinking a 30-foot eagle putt to break the course record and shoot a round of 59 at his home course (Newport Beach Country Club) … intends to major in political science.
