Bridget Anderson enters third season as a volunteer assistant at UCLA. She is married to UCLA's Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Avery Andersonย Prior to joining the Bruin track & field program, Anderson served 12 seasons on the California State University, Northridge coaching staff, where she was in charge of the Matador pole vaulters and multi-events student-athletes, and was the teamโ€™s strength and conditioning coach for the sprinters, jumpers and multi-event athletes.ย 

Anderson's work with the pentathletes and heptathletes this past indoor season had evident results for the Bruins. Isa Videler completed a pair of pentathlons in 2020, including a 3,899 point-performance at the MPSF Indoor Championships. Videler solidified her No. 5 position on the UCLA all-time pentathlon list with the the third-place finish at the league indoor meet. Isaiah Holmes competed in the heptathlon on the men's side, finishing the season with a third-place finish at the MPSF Championships. His 5,517 points moved him into fifth place in UCLA indoor history in the event.ย 

During her time at CSUN, Anderson helped the Matadors win a total of 10 Big West team championships between the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s programs.ย 

Conference champions coached by Anderson include pole vault titles by Krystal Quinn in 2008 and Tiana Webberley in 2010 and 2011. LaShana Verdon won a Big West muti-event title in 2006 followed by Sherrina Lofton in both 2009 and 2011 and Robert Robinson in 2010.ย 

Olympia Jewett, the UCLA track & field programโ€™s director of operations, competed as a heptathlete under Andersonโ€™s guidance and took home the Big West Championship in 2015. Lofton and Justin Johnson each earned All-American honors in the multi-events, and earned multiple NCAA Championship berths.

Anderson also coached three all-conference performers in the javelin, including Lance Gonzalesโ€™ Big West championship in 2009.ย 
A 2004 graduate of UCLA, Anderson came to CSUN after serving the 2004-05 season as the head track & field coach at Hoover High School in Glendale, Calif., her alma mater. Before that, Anderson was the head cross country coach at Hoover during the 2003-04 season.

The former Bridget Pearson competed in the javelin and pole vault at UCLA from 1999-2004. One of her career highlights was winning the Irish National Championships in 2000 in the pole vault. At Hoover High School, she was an All-American in the pole vault all four years and the California state champion in 1997. She claimed the CIF title in 1999 and went on to finish fourth at nationals. Anderson also competed in volleyball and water polo at Hoover before graduating in 1999.

Anderson earned her Masterโ€™s Degree with Honors in Public Administration from CSUN in 2017.

Anderson married Avery Anderson in 2009. The couple have a son, Andy, and a daughter, Avery.
