Simeon Spurling
Simeon Spurling was named the Video Coordinator for the UCLA women’s basketball team in 2018. His duties at UCLA include coordinating and creating video scouts, assisting in game planning with the coaching staff, assisting in various recruiting duties and creating highlight and skill development videos.

Prior to becoming a Bruin, Spurling spent three seasons as the Video Coordinator for the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA, as well as an assistant coach for the Trinity International women’s basketball program during the 2017-18 season.

While working for the Los Angeles Sparks (2016-18), Spurling was responsible for creating video scouting reports for the team as well as assisting coaching staff during film sessions and practices. He was an integral part of the coaching staff that led the Sparks to the 2016 WNBA Championship.

From 2010-17, Spurling spent seven years at Hope International University as an assistant coach, serving as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator. During his time at Hope International, Spurling helped the Royals to a 23-win season in 2013-14 – an 11-win improvement and the winningest season in program history. During that historic campaign, the Royals were ranked as high as 14th in the NAIA national rankings and finished the year ranked No. 22 in the nation. Hope International also upset top-ranked Vanguard, who was unbeaten at the time, as well as then-ranked No. 7 The Master’s University, en route to winning the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) Tournament. The Royals also made their first appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.

During Spurling’s time at Hope, the Royals made the conference tournament five times and finished in the top four of the conference, twice. Spurling recruited and coached seven all-conference players, including Andrina Rendon, who was also a two-time NAIA All-American. He also recruited Brittany Bauman (second all-time scorer in program history) and Alexis Perry (91 Scout grade on ESPN).
