Opened the season in three seat of the 2V4+, helping the Bruins claim victory over rival USC at the annual dual regatta… Moved into bow seat of the 1V4+ for the San Diego Crew Classic, helping steady the crew to a grand finals appearance and fourth place in the field… Claimed three seat in the 3V8+ for the Big Ten Invitational in April, helping UCLA finish in the top three of all its races at the conference invite… Remained in three seat for the UCSD Triton Invitational, where the Bruins finished in first place… Wrapped the year in the 3V8+, rowing to first place in the petite final of the Big Ten Championships.
High School
Attended New Trier High School for four years… Was a two-year varsity letter winner in rowing.
Personal
Born in Belgium and raised in Chicago, Ill.… Is the daughter of Conny Stas and Kurt Staelens… Has two sisters Emma and Eva… Chose UCLA for its “nice weather, gorgeous campus, great academics and rowing program”... Favorite hobbies include hiking, nature, working out and spending time with friends and family… Plans to go into consulting upon graduation… Economics major.
