Sam Friedman begins his first season as a graduate manager.

Friedman served the 2024 season as a practice player for the Bruins. He played four seasons as a goalkeeper for the UCLA club soccer team, winning the NIRSA National Championships in 2022 and earning runner-up honors while being selected to the all-tournament team in 2024.

Originally from Santa Barbara, Calif., Friedman played club soccer for the Santa Barbara Soccer Club from 2017-21, winning USYS Regionals in 2021. Also in 2021, he helped lead San Marcos HS to its first league title in 20 years, and he earned second-team All-Channel League honors as a junior. Friedman also played four years of varsity tennis.

Friedman is currently working on his USSF coaching license and hopes to focus on the goalkeeper position. He is also a referee working on his progression to be a regional referee for 2026.

A 2025 UCLA graduate in Economics and three-year student intern in the UCLA Athletic Communications office, Friedman is currently studying for a postgraduate marketing certificate.
