Bryce McDonald joined the UCLA staff in 2018 as chief of staff. In 2024, he was named deputy director of football administration under head coach DeShaun Foster.
McDonald joined UCLA fromย the U.S. Naval Academy, where he wasย the Director of Football Operations for five seasons, the Executive Administrator and Military Liaison Officer for three seasons, and moved on field as an Offensive Line Coach, working with the tackles, in his last season.ย
Graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in 2003, McDonald was a three-time letterwinner at fullback for the Midshipmen before serving in the United States Marine Corps.
Following graduation, McDonald was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer and served until 2012. In 2006, while stationed in Iraq and Executive Officer of 2/4, he was injured and was awarded a purple heart.
McDonald and his wife, Jana, are the parents of daughters, Kayleigh and Kendall, and son, Thomas.
