Luke Duncan also made his first collegiate start on the road against No. 1 Ohio State on Nov. 15, completing 16 of 23 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown without committing a turnover.
Biondi joined the Bruins after most recently spending two seasons as a graduate assistant at James Madison, helping establish the Dukes as a power on the FBS level.
In JMU’s first FBS season, the Dukes cracked the AP Top 25 after just five games. They would finish stop the Sun Belt Conference East Division standings, going 6-2 in league games and 8-3 overall. Quarterback Todd Centeio was named the Sun Belt’s Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year after passing for 2,697 yards and 25 touchdowns with just four interceptions.
In 2021, JMU shared the Colonial Athletic Association crown and advanced to the FCS semifinals. Signal caller Cole Johnson helped the Dukes to a 12-2 record, winning the CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year award. He set JMU single-season records for passing yards (3,779), passing touchdowns (41) and completions (287).
Biondi’s second season as a student assistant with Florida State in 2017 saw the Seminoles go 10-3 and beat Michigan in the Orange Bowl. He worked primarily with the wide receivers, a group that helped the 2016 team finish 25th nationally in total offense (466.4 yards per game). The Seminoles put forth the country’s best red-zone offense, succeeding at a .965 clip. They were also 16th in offensive first downs (321) and 23rd in passing yards per completion (14.1).
Biondi graduated from Florida State in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management. He added a master’s in sport management a year later and went on to pursue another in adult education and human resource development at James Madison.
