UCLA football and head coach DeShaun Foster promoted Ramsen Golpashin to the role of senior defensive analyst in March 2025.
A native of Southern California, Golpashin has spent five seasons with the Bruins. He returned to UCLA in 2024 after working with the NFLโs Green Bay Packers for two years. Golpashinโs coaching career has also included stops on the collegiate level at California (2017), Oregon (2016) and Hawaiโi (2015). He played offensive line at Oregon under head coach Chip Kelly.
Kelly brought Golpashin to UCLA as a graduate assistant coach in 2018. Golpashin worked alongside offensive line coach Justin Frye as the Bruins achieved a number of milestones. Running back Joshua Kelley logged more than 1,000 yards rushing in back-to-back seasons, while Demetric Felton Jr. established himself as a threat both on the ground and through the air. Offensive lineman Sean Rhyan made a number of Freshman All-America teams in 2019.
Golpashin moved to the other side of the ball in 2020, his first of two campaigns as an analyst for the defensive line. UCLA led the Pac-12 Conference in lowest yards-per-carry average allowed (3.6) and sacks per game (3.3) in 2020. Osa Odighizuwa starred for the unit, earning All-Conference acclaim. The 2021 Bruins gave up just 124.2 rushing yards per game to rate second in the league.
As an offensive quality control coach for Green Bay in 2022 and 2023, Golpashin helped the Packers register top-seven showings in sacks allowed each year. They ranked third in 2023 (30) and seventh in 2022 (30). Green Bay reached the NFL playoffs divisional round in 2023.
Golpashin joined Oregon as a walk-on in 2007. He earned a scholarship en route to making his first career start against LSU in 2011. Golpashin was voted his teamโs Most Inspirational Player award after that season, during which the Ducks picked up their programsโ third straight Pac-12 title. Oregon reached the 2011 BCS National Championship Game.
Golpashin received his masterโs of education in transformative coaching and leadership during his first stint at UCLA. He earned a bachelorโs degree in business administration and later added a masterโs in business administration with an emphasis in sports marketing from Oregon.
Born in Culver City, Calif., Golpashin attended Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, Calif. He starred on the offensive line for the Centurions, twice making the All-Area team and adding a pair of All-Foothill League honors.
