Vinny Lavalsiti (lav-ull-SEE-tee) begins his fifth year working in the UCLA Athletic Communications office in 2025-26. Lavalsiti assists the media relations efforts for the Bruins’ football, softball and women’s golf programs.

Lavalsiti has been the sports information director (SID) for UCLA softball and women’s golf since returning to Westwood in Fall 2021. He enters his third season with UCLA football in 2026. Lavalsiti previously worked directly with Bruin women’s volleyball and men’s golf.

Among Lavalsiti's responsibilities with his assigned programs are facilitating interview requests, managing social media accounts, website content management, the production of weekly game notes and yearly information guides and disseminating information for television broadcast crews.

Prior to UCLA, Lavalsiti got his start in college athletics as a sports information graduate assistant at the University of Texas at El Paso in 2020-21. While in west Texas, he worked with the Miners’ volleyball, women’s basketball, softball and rifle teams.

A native of Sutter Creek, Calif., Lavalsiti graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in history in 2020. He also earned his associate’s degree in journalism and media studies from Grossmont College in El Cajon, Calif. in 2018. While at UCLA, Lavalsiti was a sports writer for the school paper, the Daily Bruin, where he served on the softball, women’s basketball and cross country beats.
