Tim Harris is a UCLA alumnus and former student-athlete who brings more than 35 years of experience in professional sports and business leadership. He currently serves as CEO and director of UCLA Athletics on a pro-bono basis, leading the development of a new strategy to build a stronger, more sustainable and competitive model for UCLA Athletics.
Harris spent more than three decades with the Los Angeles Lakers, most recently as president of business operations. During his tenure, he oversaw a broad range of operations, including partnerships, sponsorships, ticketing, marketing, media, broadcasting and community relations. He played a key role in growing the Lakers’ business and global brand and developing new sources of revenue and strategic partnerships.
Among his many accomplishments with the Lakers, Harris helped establish major corporate and community partnerships, including the Lakers’ relationship with UCLA Health, and was instrumental in the development of the UCLA Health Training Center.
During his time as a Bruin, Harris was a standout goalkeeper from 1980 to 1983, earning All-America honors. He later played professional soccer and represented the U.S. Men’s National Team.
Harris grew up in Torrance, California, and earned his bachelor’s degree in sociology from UCLA.
