FOOTBALL TICKETS ON SALE JULY 27Top 10 team, Heisman Trophy candidate generating excitement in Westwood.
July 22, 1998 UCLA football season and single-game tickets for the Bruins' five 1998 home games at the Rose Bowl will go on sale on Mon., July 27 at the UCLA Central Ticket Office. The schedule opens on Sept. 12 against Texas, featuring Ricky Williams, the nation's leading rusher a year ago, and concludes with the crosstown showdown against USC on Nov. 21. UCLA, which owns a 10-game winning streak, has been listed among the nation's Top Ten teams in most of the pre-season college football publications. The Bruins are led by Heisman Trophy candidate Cade McNown, the nation's leading passer in 1997, pre-season All-America safety Larry Atkins, a 1997 semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, and 1997 first-team All-America place kicker/punter Chris Sailer. UCLA is again offering numerous season ticket packages. The various season ticket plans include: Bruin Season - reserved seats in a great location for all five home games for $133 per ticket; Young Alumni - reserved seats for UCLA graduates from 1994-1998 costing $133 per pair; Family Plan - good seats in Tunnel 27 costing $87.50 per ticket with a minimum purchase of four tickets. Other packages with seating options in priority areas are available to fans interested in becoming Athletic Department donors. Reserved single-game tickets are priced at $42 for the USC game (Nov. 21), $25 for the Stanford contest (Oct. 31) and $22 for Texas (Sept. 12), defending Pac-10 co-champion Washington State (Oct. 3) and Oregon (Oct. 17). General admission tickets are priced at $12 for adults and $4 for youths (12 and under) for the Texas and Stanford games and $10 for adults and $4 for youths for the WSU and Oregon games.
