Denny Crum, the former head basketball coach at the University of Louisville, learned his trade under legendary John Wooden at UCLA. After serving as an assistant, he took over as Louisville's head coach in 1972 and led the Cardinals to national championships in 1980 and 1986. Through the 2000 season, his teams won 663 games and played in six Final Fours.

Crum, who is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, was inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame in 1990.
